Job Description:
Position: Construction Project Manager (Solar) Location:
REMOTE
Salary/Benefits: $160-185k base salary (depending on experience) +
25% Annual Performance

Location: Fully remote - with approximately 50% travel to solar
project sites to engage with Site Managers and various
cross-functional teams. Must be able to travel, being onsite
approximately 2 weeks per month - home every other weekend.
Position Summary: Provide leadership and manage the operational and
financial aspects of construction projects; and serve as primary
liaison with the client's project management team. Identify
potential leads and assist estimators with the development of
pricing proposals. Work to develop a good understanding of the
power and energy generation market. Obtain knowledge and engage in
electrical, civil, and structural discussions. Enforce the use of
Best Practices and Quality Programs, process utilization, and
safety and risk management. Ensure the company's fundamental values
and beliefs are followed and maintained.
Position Responsibilities:
Safety:
1. Ensure the company's Best Practices are utilized on the project
throughout the employee orientation, weekly senior management
meetings, and Job Hazard Analyses.
2. Place an emphasis on special risks (crane, site conditions,
LOTO, arc-flash etc.), perform monthly project audits, complete
risk assessment matrices, and monitor important leading
indicators.
3. Ensure CATS observation goals are met, accident injury
management processes are trained and fully understood, and the
project follows federal and state safety regulations and the
corporate safety program.
Contract:
1. Read, edit, create, understand, and correlate the contract
documents with the scope proposal to ensure the project is built
within the scope of the contract (design, specifications, budget
and schedule).
2. Communicate with the owner promptly on contract changes, scope,
and schedule.
3. Read, edit, and understand subcontracts, service agreements, and
purchase agreements; then correlate quotes to the main scope and
contract.
4. Create the Cost Management Report (CMR).
5. Facilitate the "hand off" meetings with the estimating team to
appropriately plan resources (labor, equipment, vendors,
subcontractors).
Operations:
1. Ensure the project is productive and efficient, Best Practices
are communicated, and the project is technically and quality
compliant, striving towards superior project execution.
2. Ensure the site team reviews and understands the contract and
owner requirements.
3. Follow-up with departments to ensure corporate and project
processes are being performed timely and with minimal errors.
4. Engage with the procurement group to support the process of the
work acquisition to achieve the most competitive proposal.
5. Endorse, motivate, and execute closeouts, lessons learned, and
non-conformance; and hold others accountable.
Personnel:
1. Communicate and collaborate with other Project Managers, General
Superintendents, Managers of Construction, and Directors in
scheduling resources (labor and equipment).
2. Share knowledge of lessons learned, company values, and
employee's skills and abilities.
3. Enforce the utilization of the company's Basics, Best Practices,
project Quality Plans, Support Processes, and company policies; and
be a public supporter of company decisions.
4. Provide coaching feedback to Site Managers and Field Engineers
on a scheduled basis.
5. Ensure effective coaching and feedback is provided to all site
employees for developmental purposes.
6. Prepare star employees for potential advancement and address
consistent underperformers.
7. Facilitate initial team building efforts at project commencement
and ensure continuous teambuilding, training and mentoring efforts
are on-going throughout the duration of the project.
8. Monitor the Time-Off tracker to ensure the Site Manager is
rotating supervisors away from the job to support a healthy
work/life balance.
9. Ensure the project follows the company policies and state and
federal employment regulations.
Client:
1. Schedule and facilitate regular client meetings during the
project.
2. Develop a personal working relationship with the owner(s).
3. Determine client expectations and set the direction of the
client value drivers with the site team.
4. Measure the success of meeting the client's expectations and
value drivers during the course of the project and at the project
closeout.
5. Ensure the site management team's construction activities
support client requirements, project schedule, safety, quality, and
budget.
6. Ensure the site management team utilizes professional demeanor
while interfacing with vendors, subcontractors, landowners, and
other community members.
7. Work with clients to find cost savings areas or to prevent
change orders.
Financial:
1. Hold primary financial responsibility for the project budget and
work codes.
2. Establish work codes, budgets, cash flow, and productions within
the specified timeframe.
3. Communicate the work codes with the site team and train them on
proper usage of the codes.
4. Throughout construction, regularly review the project costs
against the budget and through the cost-to-complete process; and
accurately forecast project costs, revenues, profits, change
orders, and billings.
5. Monitor the receivables of the project to ensure a positive cash
flow.
6. Ensure the site management team is accurately monitoring costs
against budget by tracking and reporting quantities.
7. Review and report cost deviations to Estimating as they occur
and provide a summary report at the project closeout.
8. Complete final cost analysis.
9. Identify and communicate (financial) problem areas.

1. Ensure the proper implementation and application of the project
Quality Plan with assistance from site management (non-conformance
report, quality checklist, audit, etc.).
2. Develop a project culture and mindset that is focused on quality
and continuous improvement.
3. Provide oversight to ensure that the project team is performing
in accordance with the project Quality Plan and the company Quality
Program processes.
4. Delegate any tasks necessary to the Site Manager to assure
conformance with the project Quality Plan, Best Practices and the
company Quality Program.

Qualifications
--- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level of experience

--- Four or more years of progressive leadership experience, in a
related industry (i.e., heavy civil, industrial, utilities, power
generation, Military)
--- Have knowledge of and experience in cost accounting
--- Understand Construction regulations and rules.
--- Be an adaptive problem-solver.
--- Possess conceptual skills and be able to develop work plans and
project schedules
